Most of you guys may not know that name, but I recently found him on YouTube while searching for piano covers. He has a beautiful voice and he’s very talented. I suggest you go look him up. One day he’s going to be a famous musician.

While sitting out last night on my back porch, I realized something. The sky is the beauty of the unknown. Everything it does is predictable: bring storms, the sun rises and sets, the moon stays out, the stars glitter. But there are some things that are left to question. Why do the stars make constellations? Why does it feel deep and frightening when it secures safety? Do aliens hide in its midst? The sky is one of the many things in this world that hold many questions, yet no answers. As I watched, an airplane carrying hundreds of people flew over, but over top of it was a shooting star. Immediately I thought of the song “Airplanes”. Were those people on their way to a better life? We’re they doomed to crash? What did they think of this small town in West Virginia? All these questions buzzed in my head, but I couldn’t answer them. Maybe it’s becaus I’m a writer. Maybe it’s because I question things that I don’t understand.

I’ve always loved to write, always enjoyed creating stories, characters, intricate plots and details of their lives. However, one of the things I find best about writing is that sense of accomplishment. When you have writer’s block and you make a breakthrough, you feel a heightened sense of pride. You overcame something difficult and continued. That’s what I have experienced today. I’ve been stuck on presenting an issue in my working novel, but after some deep thought and free time to draw, I came up with the solution. If you’re stuck, I definitely suggest listening to City&Colour and sketching some of your characters.
